BBC3 readies “Beauty Blowout” from Twenty Six 03
UK pubcaster BBC3 has commissioned London-based production unit Twenty Six 03 Entertainment to produce the observational docuseries Beauty Blowout: The Races.
Set in a Liverpool beauty salon, the series will provide an in-depth look at the experts and stylists who are transforming their clients in the run up to Ladies Day at the Grand National horse race, held annually at Aintree Racecourse.
Beauty Blowout will capture the treatments and makeovers of female and male clients as they prepare to get race-day ready with a range of beauty enhancements – from botox and fillers to non-surgical butt lifts and breast enhancements – before following them to the racecourse and after-race parties.
Founded in March 2017, Twenty Six 03 Entertainment is a joint venture between Montreal’s Cineflix Media and Duncan Gray‘s Twenty Six 03 Content, focused on creating unscripted primetime formats and series for the global market.
Twenty Six 03′s Antonia Hurford-Jones and Duncan Gray (pictured) serve as executive producers, with Kerry Flanagan producing. Rachel Ashdown, BBC’s entertainment commissioning editor, ordered the series.
“There has been a huge change in the UK beauty industry recently, with people now able to walk into a salon and use new procedures to get themselves transformed – from top to bottom – for a big night out or special occasion,” said Gray in a statement. “But on Beauty Blowout, makeovers are only the beginning as we hear why clients want a body treatment, watch what’s being done in the salon and then follow them out wherever they’re headed to celebrate their new look.”
